Masa - Sushi all-you-can-eat review

Masa Restaurant

Comfort Hotel, 15 Charles St. E. Toronto, Ontario, tel: 416-920-3388

Rating:  2.5/5

Weekend all you can eat price $17.99

Comments:  This is a menu-based all you can eat sushi restaurant - not a walk up buffet, however, there is also a regular  menu section of the restaurant too.   As with most all-you-can-eat type restaurants, the focus is on volume, not on quality.   The selection is limited (see menu below).   The sushi typically has way too much rice, almost double the amount normally used.  The “crab sushi”, is just a long imitation roll of crab meat tied to some rice, however, the imitation crab meat used is pretty good tasting.   The sashimi is generally acceptable, however the slicing is very inconsistent, ranging from nice thin slices to unusually grossly large chunks.   The “Teriyaki Beef” is basically small chunks of quickly fried beef, somewhat chewy, but generous amounts.

Interior is comfortably modern and dark.  Washrooms are clean.

Salad is basic lettuce with french dressing.

There is also a warning on the menu that uneated rice will be charged 50 cents per piece.
